Maternity Nurses (Baby Nurses) can work; 24 hours a day ( live-in ), or 8-12 hours Daily or Nightly. We assist families who have a newborn baby and usually start as soon as the baby is home to ensure the mother gets plenty of rest. We are there to support the mother with feeding the baby, whether this is by breastfeeding or bottle feeding. We advise on sleeping and feeding routines and all other baby aspects. We carry out any duties relating to the baby and their nursery.
Temporary nannies usually help a family between 1 week and 6 months to help after the arrival of a new baby, or to cover other childcare absence, maternity leave or help parents/grandparents care for the children when they need an extra hand.
Please enquire about hourly rates as these can vary depending on requirements and location. Typically around £12 gross per hour depending on location, hours and duties involved.
This can only be carried out once a baby has reached 6 months of age. By this age if your baby is not sleeping well at nap times or is still unable to sleep 11-12 hours solidly at night it is likely your baby has gained an unwanted sleep association such as excessive feeding during the night, frequent night time wakings, early rising, etc. I can help by undertaking a sleep training programme. We can discuss which method will be used. It usually takes a week to see results and ideally I would stay with you for 3-5 consecutive nights to ensure this is consistent.
Full & Part time Nanny
As a nanny, I would care for your children of any age either sole charge or shared care working anytime from 4-12 hours a day. My role would be to ensure all children are kept in their usual routine, undertaking school and nursery runs, daily outings to the park, swimming, play groups, music classes and library trips. Ensuring they have 3 nutritional meals a day if required and have lots of educational and stimulating activity to promote their development. I would work in partnership with the family, taking responsibility for their safety and wellbeing. Additional nursery duties are likely to include the children’s laundry, maintaining the cleanliness of equipment, toys and rooms used by the children. General household duties are not normally included unless agreed in the job description.
One day Maternity Nurse:
One off booking for a maternity nurse to help for an 8-12 hour day. This gives you advice on how to get into a routine, help with any conerns with your child under 6 months, including feeding and sleeping issues, or if you would just like some hands on help for your young baby, but cannot stretch to hiring a full time maternity nurse. This can be booked on a weekday or weekend.
These can be booked in advance. I am able to do daytime or evening visits, online/phone or skype support. During a Home Visit I will visit you in your home for 2 hours. During this time I will help to answer any queries regarding your baby(s). Giving tips and advice for ensuring good sleep habits, routine plans if required or talk through sleep training and make a plan for you to carry out. Please see Packages page.
